How do i check my drive for diagnotics?

so my laptop has a problem staying on, it doesnt get hot at all, i turn it on , it takes alot longer to boot up, then after about 10-15 min it randomly turns off, no shut down screen, just a complete turn off.

theres times where it wont get past the windows loading screen.

any way to check whats the problem>? or maybe check the drive?

If it gets too hot machines shutdown to protect themselves.
You may think it doesn't get hot, but you need to check it to be sure.

You can try using:Core Temp, but it sounds like you might have more going on here.

Could be a bad battery. We need more System Specs from you especially if you want to check the HDD.

Check your battery adapter. The laptop may not be getting power from outlet and the battery is not charging.

So whenever you start the laptop, whatever trickle charge left in the battery is starting the system and once it runs out just shuts down. Sometimes the battery is getting some charge and the computer stays on for some time and then again shuts down.

When the computer is on, look for Power icon in the system tray. It gives the status of the battery (% charged) and whether connected to mains power outlet.

If you don't see the power icon...

Right-click the taskbar -> Properties -> in the "Notification Area" section, click the "Customize" button, click on "Turn system icons on or off" and turn on the Power option. This will put back the power icon.
