How to define task to run when computer wakes from sleep
Using Task Scheduler, is there any way to define a task that will run whenever the computer wakes up from sleep?
I can't seem to find that as an option under Triggers.

Look on the 'conditions' tab. There is a 'Wake the computer to run this task' check box.
Hello sevendo,
I've never done what you want before, but
I just tried this and it worked for me...theeventtask triggered on a wake up.
Set up the task trigger to begin on "On an Event"
Create a "Custom Event Filter" withEvent Level: "Information"Below is my screen print for the Custom Event Filter
Source: Power-Troubleshooter
Event ID: 1 (The system has resumed from sleep)
I set up my test to run WMP...
Depending on what youreventtask needs to do, there may be more to it such as security/permissions considerations.
I don't know if there are any more event-id's for "wake up"...i see event id 1 for my last wake up...
If the approach suggested by Saintor will work for you, that may be simpler.

That isn't what I want.
I don't want to wake the computer to run a task.
I want to define a task that will run whenever the computer wakes up for whatever reason.
Did you try setting up a task like mine in Post #3?
This works for me - the task runs whenever the PC wakes up.
You're welcome, and thanks for replying back and marking the thread solved!
