Was the icon on your desktop?

If it did not come with the computer, this means either you or another user installed it. Usually all you need to do is navigate Windows Explorer to the game's install folder, then find the game's executable file. Right-click drag it to the desktop and select "Create shortcut here", wa-la, shortcut back on desktop again.

Do you remember what game? They're usually installed somewhere in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86).

Have you lost the icon entirely, or is it converted to a generic one ?

For the first, search it in the all programs list, right click, Send to > desktop (create shortcut) .

For the second, righr click on the desktop icon that you have, select properties in the context menu, in the properties box, click on change icon, and browse to search in the installation directory.
