    External HDD space missing (all hidden and system files counted)


    Hi everyone

    Today I was taking my backup when i noticed that ~50 GB was missing. Here is a screenshot

    Is it normal for windows ? If it is, why is windows so stupid !!!!

i was copying some files into my external HDD, into a folder called, "ABCDE". a few days later, when i plugged in the HDD into my laptop again, that whole folder was gone, along with alot of the other files. some of the files can still be seen. however, i was sure i did not somewhat accidentally...
Some of my important system files are no longer hidden and I can't hide them even with the Command Prompt "attrib" command. Files such as bootmgr and ntldr are shown and I can't hide them. Also, show Protected System files is unchecked and show hidden files is also unchecked so they shouldn't be...
