Boot Up & Shut Down Language Display

    Hi-

I recently bought a used computer that had Windows 7 Ultimate already installed. I noticed that when Windows boots up or shuts down the displays are in Spanish (Iniciando Windows, etc.) After boot up the display language is in English. Any thoughts on how to get the bootup & shutdown splash screens into English. (I checked the language settings in Control Panel, it shows English as the current selection.)

    Thanks

Hi Kevin, welcome to the Seven Forums.

It sounds as if the original Windows 7 Ultimate on your PC is Spanish, and the current user account is set to use English as display language using Windows 7 Language Packs, a free option in Ultimate and Enterprise editions.

Read more about Language Packs and how to use them:
    - Display Language Packs - Install and Uninstall
    - Display Language - Change

To change Welcome, Login and Logoff screens, the built-in administrator account and any future user accounts you create to English, follow these easy steps when logged in to an user account using English as display language:
