    A required privilege is not held by the client. (PIC)


    This is what I get when I try to copy a file from the backup dvd i made when I was still using XP.
    I double checked that the disk was working properly and the files were there OK by opening the file in another computer using XP and another using Vista.

    After getting too excited and stupidly clicking to upgrade my machine straight from XP to W7 without reformatting it created the windows.old folder and some other stuff but the problem is I get the error message in my topic title whenever I try to transfer a file from the disk.

    Any help? I have a feeling this wouldnt have happened had I reformatted my stuff first and then done a clean install... ugh...

    I also just noticed that trying to download files to my hard drive also gives me the same bull error.

    Gonna reformat and reinstall windows 7 to see what happens after a clean install.

I am trying to copy a text file from my thumb drive the the root directory on my hard drive (c:\). When I try to do this I get the following message "Error 0x80070522 A Required Privilege Is Not Held By The Client". What do I need to do the overcome this condition. Thank you. Ken Burenga
I have a weird Error 0x80070522 error on one of my partition. Why is weird ? Well because I cannot save anything on the partition because I receive this error. However sometimes, randomly i can copy files on that partition after I receive the ''You need to provide system administrator privilege.......
