Restarting during gaming or playing movies sounds like it could be an overheating issue. What exactly happens when it restarts? Do you get any error messages or does the system just cut off without warning? | My System Specs | | OS XP / Win7 x64 Pro CPU Intel Quad-Core Q9450 @ 3.2GHz Motherboard Asus P5-E Memory 2x2GB GSkill DDR2 Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS (EVGA) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2408WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1200 |

Hi and welcome to the sevenforums, mcvickar
Restarting seems like it could be something else than overheating as well. Usually when overheating it will shutdown and not restart, at least that is my experience.
What could be happening here is you might be getting BSODs, but the system is set for automatic restart. Do you have a .dmp file in c:\windows\minidump? If folder doesn't exist, this means that you're not getting blue screens. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built Desktop(Myself) Specs below - Also Asus G53SW-A1 laptop OS Windows 7 Pro x64 & Fedora 16 (64bit) CPU Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz Motherboard Asus P7P55-M Memory 8GB DDR3 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 550Ti FPB Sound Card OnBoard Monitor(s) Displays HP w2207h & Acer H213H Screen Resolution 1280x1050 & 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech MK710 Mouse and Keyboard combo Mouse Logitech MK710 Mouse and Keyboard combo PSU Mushkin HP-550 550W Power suppy Case Cooler Master Elite310 Hard Drives HD 1: WD Caviar Black 1TB

Rollback all your files, registry keys and installed programs to previous state using system restore option in start menu. This would prevent the problem of getting restart every time you play games. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 |

I've disabled auto reboot on BSOD's system still restarts without warning. My games play fine so i doubt it has anything to do with graphics or RAM, but i can only play few minutes then system reboots. im out of ideas now.Same happens when watching movies doesnt matter which media player i use. (sigh) Im out of ideas now guys. Could the problem possibly have anything to do with Operating System? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Starter 32bit CPU Intel Celeron D 3.6ghz Memory 1ghz ddr2 PSU additional 40gig Hard Drives 320gig |
