Need Help Restoring Backed up hard drive

    Hi, thanks for reading.

Well I used clonezilla to backup my c drive before I moved from Win 7 rc 7100 x64 to Win 7 Rtm x64 7600. Back up worked fine.

When I went to restore the c drive it failed. After numerous tries at restoring my c drive and d drive where erased.

I only have a back up saved of my c drive and would like to restore it using anything but clonezilla. Something very user friendly if possible.

Any recommendations and or guides would be great. Free or paid software.

    Doesn't matter.

    Thanks

    Hi.

You mean you have an image you are trying to restore?

Yes I do have an image. I chose the option to save partitions as well.

    It's file folder 2009-08-30-07-img

Within it there are numerous 1.95 gig images.

I doubt that you're going to be able to restore your image with another program other than the one you made it with .... I could be wrong, but I don't think so..

I hope there is an alternative because with clonezilla if it fails it wipes my hard drive again.

    1. How many Physical HDDs do you have?
    2. Where the C: and the D: 'drives' actually PARTITIONS (VOLUMES) or different Physical HDDs?
    3. Where is this "backup-folder" --- On DVDs, or another "drive"/"partition/volume" ?
("Sounds-like" an e drive, which is probably 'partition_3' of PhysicalDrive_0...)

This might help some of the troubleshooters here...

What are you 'booting from' right now ?

In total I have 3 physical hard drives. ( I should have made this clear. My bad.)

The c drive was a partition on the d drive. Made by the os. 750 gb Western Digital 750GB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5 hard drive. 105 gig partition (c drive).

I also have a 500 gb external cavalry hard drive. (It contains the backup of my c drive).

The other is a Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5. (But this one doesn't really factor in).
