    Dual boot problem!!. please help.

    Hey,
I have acer 5745 series laptop. 4gb ram 500 gb hard disk. I have original windows 7 home premium 64 bit indstalled ALONG WITH A DUAL PARTITION OF UBUNTU 10.10.
The problem is i think my windows 7 crashed.. as it wldnt boot further than “STARTING WINDOWS”. So I went into my ubuntu os and and from ubuntu backed up all the Windows 7 data I needed.. then I used the windows 7 recovery option from the boot menu screen ( the one which shows all the OS’s in the laptop, the one which is at the start, from where you have to choose) .
Windows recovered and when I restarted it.. MY LAPTOP IS NOT BOOTING.. EVEN THE DUAL BOOT .. THE screen from where I can choose either windows or linux IS ALSO NOT SEEN.
Please help me I need to get the data from my Linux partiton it is very important.
I am not able to boot from the CD also as the recovery disks I created for windows 7(the disks work properly, I tried it on my desktop).
Plese help me.. I need to get my data anyhow..
    What might be the problemm?
    Any solutions?

Let's see if you can start Win7 working through these steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot.

Everything that can be done to start Win7 is there, starting with disinfecting since it won't repair unless cleaned of possible infection.

If you can get Win7 started, then follow this method to re-establish Dual boot Ubuntu-Win7.

If you can't start Win7, boot the latest installer given in this link and follow the steps carefully to reinstall while making sure to not touch your Linux partition: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

As long as you don't delete it or install over it then it should be available to add to the Dual Boot as given.

I wouldn't advise dual booting with any sort of linux distro, I did it once so I could use knoppix for file recovery, but it crashed my whole computer and I lost everything, how ironic . Bottom line is that I recommend making a live CD version of the linux distro you want to use on a memory stick, that is if you don't use it for things that require you to install programs within linux
