Windows 7: Boot problem

I marked windows 7 partition active I'm running the origiin installation disk I didn't run it 3 times because it failed I unplugged all hds except windows 7 hd but I have it set to boot from DVD otherwise it won't boot but hope do I do the one time trigger in bios?

So my mobo is asus I just press F8 and I believe it takes me to repair screen right? And that's we're I do startup repair? I have to check when I get home

Yes, tap the F8 key at boot, select DVD drive to boot, boot Win7 DVD System Recovery Options
to Mark Win7 Partition Active then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times

The process didnt work for me i tried on both partitions and nothing should i just do a clean install?

There are some other steps here you can try to get it started: Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot

Otherwise if this is factory OEM you can run Recovery from its hotkey at boot or from disks you made or order, or Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

I finally successfully reinstalled windows and the drive that I asked to format wasn't even formatted thank god I have backups Thankyou for your help
