Upgrading HP Laptop to Windows 7

Come back here and tell about your experience. If you have any compatibility or other issues after installation, feel free to ask. I've installed 7 on several HP Pavilion dv6, Pavilion dv7 and HDX series laptops and found only one original HP application that doesn't work well with Win7: HP Quick Launch Buttons. My recommendation is to install everything else except that.

I have had absolutely no problems with any other drivers or software than Quick Launch Buttons. Fingerprint reader works perfectly, Quickplay and Touchpad aswell.

Both x86 and x64 versions of Win7 install most of the drivers automatically on HP laptops. I've been very surprised how easy it has been, both clean and upgrade installations.

Modern HP laptops are definetely 7-ready!

The only software I really wanted was the HP Health Check so I could download HP specific upgrades and drivers. So far no luck, but I'm happy with Windows 7, so I'm not missing the HP stuff too much... It'd be nice for some HP Health check though if somebody could help me out....

I have a HP tablet 3 gigs memory with Vista Home premium 32 bit on it. I did a clean install, custom to reformat the drive remove both partitions and Install Windows 7 ultimate 64. Tech net RTM I was left with a windows old folder and a clean install of Ultimate 64. All drivers were installed just fine. Finger print reader, touch pad and screen etc. I have not tried web cam yet. I was able to move what I wanted from the windows old to Ultimate. I got rid of most of the HP stuff I did not need. and deleted the old file. Windows 7 is faster and with out all the stuff vista did. Wei score is low because of graphics. very pleased with results.
Just installed program for web cam it works, I had proplem with coprocessor, Downloaded from HP site processor driver everything works

What is the exact model of your HP Laptop? Without knowing it, it's not possible to tell where and what you should download.

My mistake not to tell this to you earlier: you can completely forget HP Total Care Advisor and HP Health Check. They are of no use, never telling anything important. Most definetely they are not helping you to get your drivers.

Please check the model of your laptop and post it here.
