Strange new folder

I went into my C:\Windows folder to check something & I realized I have this new folder named SoftwareDistribution that was created on 6/1/12.

This is a refurbished hard drive & was clean before I 1st installed 7 on it, which was 6/2/12. So how can I have a folder w/a creation date of 6/1/12?

I have scanned this folder & no viruses/PUP's were found. In it are various other folders (attached pic) also. Anyone able to give me some help w/this?

I wouldn't worry about it. It's related to AutoUpdate. The only update I allow on my Windows7 machine is Silver Light. And I have a SoftwareDistribution folder. If you want you can go into Control Panel => Windows Update and turn auto updates off.

Just double-checked & mine has always been set to: Never check for updates (not recommended.) I check my updates manually.

I'm not sure about the date you're worried about but the folder is for update history. We all have the software distribution folder.

Thanks for the replies, just wondering where this folder came from to begin with. I'll leave it alone. Thank you for the help.
