lost shortcuts

    lost shortcuts


    Morning. i have just installed google chrome (or thought i had ) but it didn't look right.
    so i uninstalled it .and thought i would try again.when i went back to my desktop and clicked on the shortcut for google ,i get this message.
    unable to open this internet shortcut the protocol HTTP dos'e not have a registered program this also comes up with other shortcuts .i don't know if this is because of the google install.or just coincidence. can anyone help.

    Hello Longshanks,

    Is this with only internet website shortcuts?

    If so, then you could use the tutorial below to set your web browser (ex: Internet Explorer or Chrome) to be the default program for all it's associations to have the shortcuts open with that browser afterwards.

    Thanks both of you uninstalled crome then reinstalled it. ticked the box make I/e
    my home page ,all back to normal.
