    Desktop icons reloading every boot?

I dunno whats going on, the icons on desktop refresh every time the desktop loads (it does not repeat during session), these can be fast or slow and i have to remove them cos it will takes ages - they are already loaded when desktop comes on...but they all turn into white sheets then load again??

I dont know what is causing this..

there is no AV installed, ive uninstalled perfect disk and disabled wireless adapter so only windows is loading.. it seems to happen as soon as the power & volume icon load in the tray, ive updated the audio driver and increased icon cache size to 2000 then 8000 but still it does this?

the only thing i done before it started happening was I stopped a defrag session before it finished

can anyone help? iam sorting this laptop for my sis and 1 thing after another is popping up (slow with N360 installed) and she wants it back tomoz, its only 1 day old and ive been setting it up and removing crud and installing her software..

EDIT: tried rebuilding icon cache and no joy!

    cheers

Your specs says that : Memory 2Gb 667Mhz , and OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Refreshes at the start up is very possible, coz at that time the memory is sued to load other elements , too.

How many icons are there at teh desktop ?

its a bug/problem... cos it never done it before I stopped Perfect Disk in middle of defrag.. Ive uninstalled it and still the same...

reinstalled PerfectDisk and it hasnt done it since (3 reboots in a row)

it must have corrupted a windows file and the reinstall fixed it?

thanks for your help anyway :)
