xp64 on a win7board?

win7ulitmate, i7-2600 ,12gb ram, i have a ssd 6g/s with a board thats 5g/s ,i need to get the full xp64 going (not the enviorment) my boards driver dont have a ahci controller for me to download and put to nLite, so i was just planning on bios change to sata or raid and see if i could get xp64 to run, would i notice a dramatic loss in speed if i were to do this? i use the pc only for video editing, is there some kinda of generic driver for my board i could use it says its a "T-series C216" in DM ide drop down.

no please not the emulation, i am kinda noob and dont ever want to have to spend time relearning an os, i have a laptpp with win7 and cant stand navigating it, and thats just to play movies off the hdmi, can you imagine using it for everyday computing, it would be like a bad dream sweating and all.

Also: Windows XP 64 bit is designed only for servers and computers with the Intel Itanium and Itanium-2 processors. This is different from and is incompatible with x86-64, which is that standard used in all computers today. WinXP 32bit only supports up to 4GB of RAM.

I'd recommend looking into understanding the Operating System currently installed on your computer. Windows 7 is an actually a great OS, even better than XP in most cases. At least take the time to try to see how it works instead of reminiscing XP whenever 7 does something differently. You say you don't have the time, but a stitch in time really does save nine.

maybe ahci is just a non tangible myth, as the pc was switched to ide and now xp64 runs lightning fast, i installed quite a few apps and wow reboots in just a few seconds, only after changing the boot screen i can no longer see the bois screen its just blank for a second intil the boot screen shows up for like 3 seconds. this is amazingly quick.

Are you running the 64 bit version of XP? My understanding was that it doesn't support current 64 bit processors.

yah thats what hp kept saying over and over, although i know just enough about xp to get somethings done, i just needed to change the bios storage setting to ide then istall went fine, i tried at first to use nLite to load the achi/ahci forgot now.lol. thinking it would make the ssd work at its peak, that is why i looked all around for my boards ahci driver to get xp64 installed on that storage controller. i am using the pc for media editing and thought all my efforts to upgrade to ssd was in vain if i coulnt get ahci going, i read a lot on sata vs. ahci and never really got anywhere except the thought that i would only get 3g/s on ide kept ringing in the back of my mind. so even though i got nowhere with getting ahci working the gig seems lightning fast.

Not true.

There are a few X86 machines at my employer that are running XP X64. I haven't seen a single Itanium based machine in the place. The company is migrating to Windows 7, and the X64 version will be standard.

The main peculiarity of XP X64 was that Microsoft has never sold it at retail. (Microsoft did the same with Win95b, which introduced FAT32 support.) That means that Microsoft offers no support for it; all support comes from the PC manufacturer, in principle.

That said, IMHO, anyone who has so much trouble navigating in Windows 7 that he'd contemplate going back to XP must be rather eccentric. (That's a polite way of saying just plain nuts.)
