How do I completely migrate My Documents?

    Hey guys,
Currently the location of my 'Documents' library is set to default ie C:\Users\Abhishek Sharma\My Documents and I wanna change it to a folder in the D drive.

I have the following two doubts.

    1. When I change the location will all my data in be moved to the new folder in the D drive or will it just be copied and duplicated resulting in double spaced used up in my HDD?

    2. Plenty of games and applications use My Documents to save several files (like game saves, application logs, etc.). While changing the location how do I deal with them?

    Thank you. :)

All you need to do is go to your documents (or any other) library, you should see something that says "Includes: 2 Locations". Click "2 locations" and add a folder on your D drive to your library. Change the new folder to the default save location, which you can do by right-clicking it. To move the files from your current documents folder to the one on your D drive, move them as you would normally move files.

Where can I find the option to include 2 locations?
I right-clicked on Documents and went to the 'Location' tab but I can't find it there.

Oh yeah found it. Once I change it to the default folder, all my files won't be moved automatically, or will they?
And what about the game saves?

All you Data will be moved and not copied so no need to worry about double space occupied

Nothing to deal with, they'll go to your My documents which will be in new location i.e. D:\ Drive
    Thank you. :)

Goto C:\users\Abhishek Sharma and right click on my documents, select properties, goto location tab and give the path D:\Documents, hit enter, if it asks then say move

Answers given in bold to your questions, I always do this and using it since years, no harm, nothing to worry, just try it

Alright I tried this on Music, Pictures and Videos and it worked flawlessly. But I'm little worried before migrating the Documents. Are you sure that the saved games won't be affected?

can't say for sure but It should not effect (99% sure), because the games will read from the new location, it just needs my document which we are providing, I have some applications which saves/reads data to/from my documents and when I install system and change it, it automatically takes the data from the changed location.

Well it's working. Changed the location for Documents and all save games are still intact, even the application logs are generated perfectly. Thanks a lot, Paarkhi.
