Random screen blanking

Hello !

I have installed windows 7 ultimate w/SP1 with 3.2 p4 and geforce 6200 agp. I am experiencing random screen blanking for about 1 sec. No matter what i am doing , watching youtube, working in notepad , librecalac ,etc.

I used the same install media for second machine and it works fine but is a dell. Winxp pr worked fine with no problems. Ran Ubuntu linux for 45 days with no problems either.

This only happens with wndows 7 ultimate w/SP1.

Any ideas on what to check ? Nothing in event viewer relating to display errors.

thanks for any help in advance.

I saw microsoft updates installed 8 dot net updates and that seems to have fixed the random screen blanking. Been running awhile now and no blanking at all.

I have finally figured out that it was the ethernet card settings which wanted to turn off machine when network was idle or what ever that setting is. I unchecked the box and haven't had one problem since.

More info please

I have just installed SP1 on Win 7 Pro and i'm getting this "random 1s of blank screen" problem.

Could you be a bit more specific about the setting you changed to fix this, like a screenshot of the window witht the setting?

Thanks-

coline

Windows screen flashes, random grey screen & random black screen
This is driving me crazy. Right after I boot my laptop, the screen flashes randomly. Also something is stealing focus from what I am working on to something else. Then it likes to suddenly go to a grey screen. I have to manually reboot. If that is not enough, it like to just reboot.

Multi-Monitor Blanking in Windows 7
Can someone suggest me on how to blank screens for a multi-monitor setup? I have used IOCTL_VIDEO_SET_OUTPUT_DEVICE_POWER_STATE for windows XP and it works just perfect for me. This has been deprecated in Windows 7. Is there something similar I can try for windows 7?

Blinking & blanking screen
I've read posts in this topic but I don't think my issue is overheating hardware. Under Win 7 Ultimate, my monitor will go black, blink between black and a display, etc. when I sometimes have dialog boxes open. Never does it with just the desktop showing. It seems inconsistent re which program...
