Unable to boot into windows

I used these files (Windows 7 | Login Screen Reworked by ~alexandru-r-ghinea on deviantART) to tweak my logon, and now am unable to boot into windows it seems. I get past the loading symbol, then i just get a black screen with a cursor, i thought it might just be a display thing so i tried to log on anyways, but no success. Then i tried to get into recovery/restore mode via DVD, nothing, i just get a black screen with a blinking underscore. Now im thinking i might have to clear CMOS and reset BIOS? or perhaps a total reinstall of the OS? Im running Windows 7 profesional 64-bit, and mobo is asus p8p67-m pro.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
My name is Riyaz and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.

I read the link you have posted and it suggests you to backup the registry but since you are unable to load to recovery mode even a regbackup will not help. So I believe you have to backup data making this hdd external and then reinstall OS.

You may be booting the Windows 7 DVD or System Repair Disk incorrectly. Try tapping the Dell F12 key at boot vigorously to see if you can bring up a one-time BIOS Boot Menu to select DVD/CD to boot. I would also run Dell Diagnostics from the same menu.

If not try Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS to see if you can get an f12 boot menu.

I'm not sure how Dell Dude wants you to reinstall if you can't boot the disk, but there is a way: by booting the maker's HD Diagnostic CD to test the HD and then quick wipe it which will force the Windows 7 DVD to autostart to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. You can also do this with Partition Wizard bootable CD or DBAN.

You can first boot Paragon rescue CD given in tutorial to rescue your files - it will likewise autostart on its own.
