Back to Windows vista and it is a nightmare.. I recently got dell studio 15, it has windows vista, and its been a nightmare, since it runs horribly compared to windows 7, I have windows 7 on my desktop, and vista on my laptop, I already got 6 BSOD, related to drivers and registry problems, now I never had this problems in windows 7, It feels like a huge downgrade going from windows 7 to vista, even with sp2 installed, I will be getting the windows 7 family pack when windows 7 comes out | My System Specs |

I got to format my Vista because it became sluggish and buggy over time. I never really had problems with it.
For Windows Seven, I have to random temporary small freeze I don't like. Like in Vista. But, it's indeed faster overall. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom build OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 950 3.06 GHz Motherboard Gigabyte X58A-UD3R Memory Corsair XSM3 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 9-9-9-24 Graphics Card Asus nVidia GeForce GTX460 Factory Overclocked Sound Card HT-Omega Claro 7.1 Monitor(s) Displays Asus VW246H 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech K350 Mouse Logitech M510 PSU Xigmatek NRP-PC702 700W (cable hell) Case Lian-Li Lancool PC-K62 Cooling Stock fans for PC case, Cooler Master Hyper N520 for CPU Hard Drives 1x90GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD (System, internal)

Running both My first partition runs Vista Home Premium x64 and my second partition runs Windows 7 x64 RC 7100. I have been using the Windows 7 partition as my primary os since it was installed and have no regrets as it is extremely stable and more than meets my current needs.
Kept the Vista for the Windows 7 upgrade (clean) processes and I am moving all related info, docs, software, etc to the Windows 7 RC partition to hold until the primary partition is rebuilt with Windows 7. Then Bye-Bye RC partition 2 and hello single partition and system tweaking. It will be nice not to have to keep two partitions up to par but what can you do.
Have been testing Windows 7 on my DELL Latitude C600 1ghz/512meg ram and it appears to run extreamly well other than AREO which I don't need there anyway. I will restore XP back prior to the Windows 7 upgrade (Thank god for Windows Home Server and full system restores). Home theater still runs Vista Home Premium and I plan an in-place upgrade just to test without a clean install as it is just an entertainment system which can be rebuilt if necessary but from what I've heard it probably won't be necessary.
The one thing I will say is my Vista partition is ROCK STABLE and doesn't give me any heartburn since SP1 and some tweeking of the system to make it work my way. The system is good enough if Windows 7 wasn't available but it is and it is what we Vista users were promised a few years ago when Vista rolled out. Long delay and quite a few lie's on M$ part but they did finally get it right. Sad it took so long. Purchased 3 copies of Windows 7 Home Premium during initial half price sale (Disappointed with M$ over family pack being same price as once again they show their disdain for the loyal customers) and a lack of a Windows 7 Professional family pack is just plain dumb. I guess they don't think anyone with a home network would want or need things like bit locker, RDP, or XP compatibility because everyone knows that the home users can afford to purchase all new peripherals to go with their new Windows 7 pc's. or upgrade to Professional to get full use of their Windows Home Server. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Systemax N2000 Gaming PC OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Q6600 @2.4ghz (G0 stepping) Motherboard XFX nforce 680i LT Memory 8 gb OCZ vista essential sli PC-6400 Graphics Card Dual 9800gt in SLI mode Sound Card Integrated 8.1 High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dual Sceptre x246w 24 inch monitors Screen Resolution 1920 x 1200 each monitor Keyboard MS Intelitype 6000 v2.0 Mouse MS Intelipoint 6000 PSU Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250W Case N2000 server tower Cooling Thermaltake Bigwater 760 is Hard Drives 500 GB SATA II / 7500 rpm Internet Speed Wi-power 1.5GB up / 512k down Other Info Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Windows 7 Pro x64, Windows Home Premium X86, Windows XP pro, Windows Home Server x86, Ubuntu 10.4 x86 and x64, Ubuntu server 10.4, SQL Server 2005, MySQL 5.0 |

Three days ago I finally removed Vista completely from my system. At present all my computers (3) are running Windows 7 Evaluation (90 Days). One is running Windows Virtual PC RC and XP Mode (XPM RC). Been using Win 7 since November, 2008. Had some problems with drivers, and XP legacy programs, however, since 7600 there has not been a single problem (reason for going with the evaluation version). One of those computers is my new iMac 24" (bought three days ago). Still knotting on wood. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion a4302f OS Win 7 Pro x64, VM Win XP, Win7 Pro Sandbox, Kubuntu 11 CPU AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 @ 3.0 Gbz Memory 12GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB, 2x2GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4350 HD Graphics/Audio with 512MB Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 1. I have been running windows 7 from the beginning, It is stable and actually pretty fast. I hate to admit it but the 27 inch quad core IMAC has got my attention, I am wondering if anyone has any recogmendations, I am a PC but the Mac really is interesting. Should I? I know I have opennned a can of worms but it is wintertime below 20 degrees and winter is just starting. With fusion 3 it says it can be seamless, Most of what I dio is photo stuff.
