Windows 7: My mouse is acting weird

My mouse is acting weird

I have a mouse that I have had for a long time, it is a Logitech laser mouse and I love it. Just about a week ago I started to notice that when I single left click it is acting as if I am either double clicking or when I click it acts like I am clicking more than once.

The latest thing that happen was I was deleting a email in my inbox and I clicked on it once to delete one email and I saw it delete 2 or maybe 3.

I have checked the mouse properties in control oanel and played around with the double click speed and that didn't help.

I guess it might be a good time to get a new mouse, just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions before I bit the bullet and bought I new one.

Could it be the driver which is the Win 7 one I am NOT using logitech software.

Thanks for any replies

If you still have the problem after checking the battery, try another mouse to see if the problem goes away.
Hopefully one or the other fixes the problem.

With wired mice, whenever it starts to misbehave, I know it's time to change it because the wires in the connection have been severed

It wasn't a wired mouse, I bought a new mouse and the problem is fixed.

The best way to solve a mouse problem is to get a cat.
