Autorun woks on audio but not for software

My autorun feature works for audio CDs but not for software. I searched for autorun and checked the box that is supposed to run auttorun for all CDs. Any suggestions on the next step?

For security reasons, it is better for Autorun not to open any programs.

If you connect a USB drive or a CD/DVD that has a virus, you will be infected because Autorun will let it start running.

I appreciate the problem concerning a virus or malware. Are you saying that Win7 operates to prevent opening licensed software from a CD/DVD drive?

You can still setup your licensed program manually by going into the installation disc/media itself and clicking on the Setup.exe file or the appropriate installation file.

If you still wish to enable Autorun/AutoPlay for your devices including software discs, i recommend perusing this tutorial to compare notes with what you've done...
