My autorun feature works for audio CDs but not for software. I searched for autorun and checked the box that is supposed to run auttorun for all CDs. Any suggestions on the next step?

I appreciate the problem concerning a virus or malware. Are you saying that Windows 7 operates to prevent opening licensed software from a CD/DVD drive?
You can still setup your licensed program manually by going into the installation disc/media itself and clicking on the Setup.exe file or the appropriate installation file.
If you still wish to enable Autorun/AutoPlay for your devices including software discs, i recommend perusing this tutorial to compare notes with what you've done...
