This is not the way I would have done that. Suggest you reset the resolution to where it was. Then right click on the desktop and go to 'View". There you can adjust the size of the desktop icons.
You can also hold the CTL button down and roll the wheel on your mouse. That changes the icon size too. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Can you see other graphics and pictures normally, or is it only the desktop - we have to see whether there might be a graphics driver problem. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Hi Gaurav. Welcome aboard.
I hope you have set your resolution to the recommended one. If so, check the VGA or DVI connections are properly connected or not.
BTW, have you reinstalled windows or not ? If so, have you installed the display driver ? | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Assembled OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit SP 1 CPU Intel Core i3 2120 @ 3.30GHz Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
