    Unwanted controls

When I try to open a link to a safe company a screen appears to say it wont open it because of restrictions on my computer. I never put any restrictions on so can anyone tell me what is happening and how to sort it please?

    Hello there RonBin79,

Here's a Microsoft site that might have the solution you're looking for:-

Hyperlinks are not working in Outlook

    Hope that helps!

Erm.. since outlook is obviously borked until you can fix it, you'll have to use another program like Internet Explorer or any other browser you've got installed on your system to access the link.

Copy and paste the link into Notepad, open your desired internet browser and then copy and paste the link from Notepad into the address bar of your browser.

I can read your replies from my e-mail so don't have to copy and past to my Note Book, which I cannot find anyway. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, where is Note Book please, just in case...

    Cheers

Your email client is Outlook, which is the software we are trying to troubleshoot here.

I ask that you copy the link for Microsofts solution into an external word editor like Notepad because we need to view the solution on an Internet browser that does not have the issue of being unable to open links by clicking on them like you've mentioned in your opening post.

Anyway, for the sake of problem resolution, can you please follow my subsequent instructions as closely as you possibly can:-

    1) Click on your start orb in windows (The Start button) or press the windows key on your keyboard.

    2) In the search box, type in Notepad

    3) Press Enter on your keyboard

    4) Go back to Outlook (e-mail program) program, right click on the link I've given to you from Microsoft in my first reply, or just right click on this link Hyperlinks are not working in Outlook and select Copy link location.

    5) Go back to the Notepad program window and right click on any empty space in it and select Paste

What Internet browsers do you have installed on your system?

And by Internet browsers I mean, do you have Internet Explorer, or Firefox or Chrome installed on your system? You know, the browser that you use for watching Youtube videos, or accessing news websites like the BBC or CNN?

Here are screenshots of what i mean:-

I apologize if I sounded somewhat curt with my earlier post, good sir.

The Fix-It utility from Microsoft can only be used to fix the specific problem that it was linked to.

Microsoft develops many specific "Fix-It" utilities for solving and troubleshooting various issues and problems..

One size does not fit all in this case.

I'm glad that your issue has been resolved, and once again, I apologize for the tone of my earlier post.
