Windows 7: Windows Live Photo Gallery Screen Saver Changes Screen Resolution

I had to reimage my hard drive and I have reinstalled Live Photo Gallery and wanted to use the Screen Saver like I did before the reimaging. However, post-reimaging the screen saver is reducing the screen resolution to the point that most of my pictures look fuzzy/grainy. There is also a long pause on the Screen Saver launch and when I return to Windows while the screen resolution is changing.

I have not installed any software on the computer that was not there prior to the reimaging with the exception of switching to Microsoft Security Essentials. I have been looking for a solution, but have not seemed to find one.
