Can't change file name in 'downloads'

Hi,

I'm trying to create a new file in downloads and like to change the name of the file. After changing it, the name pops back to 'new file'.

Does anyone know what causes the problem and how to fix this?

it may be open in another program

try copying the file rename the copy and delete the original, see if it will delete.

First of all, thanks for the super quick response.

I have tried to copy a file and rename the copied file, but it didn't work. Also tried other things, like renaming the existing files. Maybe it has something to do with the allowances of the file, but i can't find anything strange in the properties.

Any other idea's?

what is the file and where did you download it from,
you could try downloading it again and see if the same thing happens.
maybe as an experiment save it to a different location like documents or somewhere
