Overheating NetBook!

Hi

So Having had previous issues with the my asus EEE pc Netbook (please visit other post for more details) I found a computer shop that would re install my windows 7 for me. During the reinstall... I popped in to see he had taken my netbook to pieces! I asked him what he was doing and he said it wasnt working and that he thought it may have been a hard drive problem. By the next day I recieved a call to say it was fixed.

It seems to be working again although a black screen on boot say comes up and says something about boot drive or something... but apart from that, its fine.

What the issue now is within around 30 minutes of it being on... it over heats very very bad.. this then causes the netbook to run really slow and to be honest I just switch it off as I dont want to harm it!

I took it to the guy and explained what it was doing... he said it wasnt eanything he did... which must be a lie, but that he thinks the fan needs cleaned.. and he would do it for 35quid!!

Can someone please guide me on what to do as I dont want to kill my netbook forever and this guy is a scamming *******!

Yea.... wasn't overheating before he took the laptop apart but now it is? That doesn't sound like there are too many variables to rule out in this situation.

I would be interested to know when exactly that black screen comes up (before or after the Windows logo) and what exactly it says.

it says Boot booster doesnt work this time... i think.. sorry it was really quick.

And when does it come up exactly in the boot process? After you log into Windows?

as soon as I turn it on before windows even boots up... its like it runs a mini check and then starts like normal. I also have noticed that before... I had a c drive aswell as a d drive.. where as now... only a c drive.

Ok, the mini check just sounds like the BIOS doing its thing.
