Can't access my downloads folder or anything in it, HELP!

    Can't access my downloads folder or anything in it, HELP!


    Everytime i try and click on my downloads folder this error message pops up



    Help?

    What does it say under Properties > Shortcut tab > Target type

    That looks pretty corrupted. Try this: Right click on Favorites and see whether "Restore Favorites Link" does anything.

    Go to C:\ > Users > Your Name > Downloads. That is where the real folder is - (in your picture you only have a shortcut).

    Right click on the folder > Properties > General tab. Does this look like in my Picture?

    Yeah it does, but it's a new downloads fold. I first noticed all this when i tried to play some music on itunes, and yeah it can't play anything that was in the original downloads folder. So does this mean that it's all gone forever, or is there some way of getting it back?

    As whs mentions, things do seem a little corrupt.

    Can you revert the system to a prior restore point (before the issue appeared)?
