Remove Pinned OEM Icons from Taskbar for ALL USERS

I am trying to find out how Lenovo has configured Win 7 such that each new user gets two icons- Lenovo Shop App and Lenovo Device Experience. I know a user can unpin them, but this is for a business and we cannot expect every user to be able to accomplish this task. We do not want to create a support snafu when users try to use these icons.

I know there is a local GPO that can eliminate pinned icons completely, but this is not what I want to achieve.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, this method I am aware of. This is not what I want. I just want to delete the OEM icons. While still allowing all users to work with the standard default Win 7 icons and add their own icons. The local GPO described in the link you provided disables all pinned icons.

This is obviously how Lenovo customized the initial install image, along with the assorted 3rd party apps that OEM's are fond of putting on new computers.

Not sure how many computers you're trying to remove that from, but it may just be easier to manually remove it from each one.

Another option could be a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

    Derekimo,

This is not an Enterprise size company so we do not have many machines with this problem. I have heard that a fresh reinstall will remove the icons, but I am looking for a way to manually remove them as you have replied.

Do you know how to remove them so new users logging on to the PC will NOT get these icons? This is what I am looking for.

Just send out an email telling them to unpin the icons. Or better yet just leave them alone.

You could even to a screen capture video to show them if they are not overly confident with computers.

Or, you could uninstall the programs if you don't want people using those programs and reinstall them from Lenovo's site when necessary.
