    Missing partition

    Hello everyone!
I've searched the answer for my problem for quite some time now, but I didn't find any so I decided to make a thread in the hope that somebody can help me.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. Today when I booted it up I noticed that one partition is missing. I have 2 hard-drives. One is used for storage purposes, and has only one partition. It dosen't have the OS on him, so I think it dosen't matter.
The other one has the System partition, the C partition and, until today, another 2 partitions. One of the other two went missing. This is what Disk Managment shows me:

Until today that 280 GB of free space was my F partition. And now I want it back. What can I do? Can I recover it? I mean recover it completly, not using a program that recovers files.

    Thank you in advance!

Sorry, but I'm not aware of any programs that can undelete partitions. The one program I uses for data recovery (on a file-by-file basis) is R-Studio.

You should try to find out WHY the partition disappeared. In some cases recovering a "lost" partition can cause other problems.

There are several partition apps. Some are free.

PARTITION wizard includes a partition recovery function, The free Paragon rescue cd also has one

When simply deleting a partition (without additional wiping) disk management software only removes the references to it in the Partition Table, thus leaving the possibility to recover it later. The Undelete Partitions Wizard enables you to find and recover these partitions. A restored partition will be fully functional, as long as other partitions were not created, moved or exceeded the disk space.

    FIX for missing partition

    Hi,

Even I had the same problem after installing window 7 Ultimate. The missing partition is appearing in Windows XP but not in Windows 7. Then normally I have tried the following solution and it works great :)

    Open Start
    Right Click on Computer
Then you will get the menu : Open manage ....
    Click On Manage
Goto Storage --> Disk Management ( Then you can able to see the missing partition here)

Click on the Missing partition under the DISK 0
    Right Click on that
CHANGE DRIVER LETTER AND PATHS -----> Assign any Name
    Just Apply :)

Then you can retrieve this partition :)

Please lemme know if you have any questions :)
