windows 7 failed to boot after installing new usb mouse hi..

Have you tried updating your USB controller drivers? Check your Device Manager, and look under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". Is there a yellow ! mark next to anything? ... The mouse may be working, but it could still be causing problems you don't see. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium CPU Intel Nihilem 920, quadcore, 2.66 Motherboard ASUS Rampage III Formula Memory 8 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Series Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 Sound Card None Monitor(s) Displays 2x ASUS VS247h-p Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 Mouse Logitech M510 PSU 850W Case Antec 1200 Cooling Bunch of fans Hard Drives Primary: 120 GB SSD: OCZ RevoDrive, PCI-E. Uninstall the driver and the software of the mouse and try with Windows' standard mouse driver.
Should that work we at least know it is not your USB controller | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i7-2600K Motherboard ASUS P8P67 Memory 16 GB (4x4) G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600 Graphics Card 2048MB HIS Radeon 6970 IceQ Turbo Sound Card Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio Monitor(s) Displays Iiyama ProLite B2712HDS (27"@1920x1080) Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Mouse Logitech G500 Case Lian-Li Hard Drives 2 TB on usual HDD

Should that work we at least know it is not your USB controller Sounds like his machine is getting stuck on the bios screen so drivers are a non issue with his problem.
I would try plugging in the mouse to different USB ports and see if the problem occurs on all USB ports.
Motherboard bios may need to be updated or a setting in the bios needs to be changed.
You can also see if the problem occurs on another pc.
I have a USB hub that used to lock up the pc on the bios screen on an older board I had, had to unplug it, reset the pc, and it would boot up and I would plug the hub back in. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HAL-9000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel i7 3770K Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XMS3 Graphics Card XFX HD6950 2GB EyeFinity Sound Card Logitech G35 & Sennheiser PC135 & VIA HD Monitor(s) Displays 23" HP 2310e, 23" Samsung B2230, 21.5" Viewsonic Screen Resolution 5760x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 and G13 Mouse Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse PSU Antec True Power New 650watt Case Cooler Master HAF-932 Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler, 3x 230mm Fans, 2x120mm Fan Hard Drives 16TB of Storage

or should i just update my bios? I would leave the bios update as a very last resort. That can be tricky. You don't list in your specs what kind of mouse it is? Also is it plugged into a USB expansion card or is it in the integrated USB port? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit - Build 7600 SP1 CPU Intel Core i3-2120 3.30Ghz Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 Socket H2 ATX Memory Kingston 4 GB DDR3 1333 mhz Graphics Card Zotac GeForce 9400 GT 512MB Sound Card Sound Blaster Audigy SE 24-Bit Monitor(s) Displays Samsung Sync Master 940 = 19 inch Screen Resolution 1440 X 900 Keyboard Microsoft Natural 4000 Mouse Microsoft Custom Optical 3000 PSU 500 watt Case NZXT Apollo - Silver with Clear Side Panel Cooling Three 120 mm Fans Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB Sata 3 SSD ==
