Dell Inspiron laptop - screen freeze issues

Hi- I have the Inspiron 1545. There is an issue with the screen. It has to be pivoted a certain way for the image to be clear. At certain angles and sometimes spontaneously, it freezes and slowly takes on a gray-white appearance with horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen. Bump it or re-position it, the screen image becomes clear again and you are back in action. It seams this is an issue with the laptop and not the software or anything. Is there a fix for this problem that someone is willing to share?
    Many thanks,

I have the same issue with an old laptop of mine, it is hardware but not quite sure if its the screen itself or the connector that connects the screen to the motherboard (i think it's the latter) but unfortunately i couldn't share a fix as it's something i've just decided to live with based on the fact i hardly use my laptop anymore.
