Any free programs to screen cap the active window and autosave it?

Anyone happen to know of a program to take a screencap of the active window then automatically save it? besides fraps I mean? Fraps won't work with what I want to use it for so been looking for an alternative, also yes I k now about print screen and then paste into a program then saving it, but I am looking for something that takes a screencap of active window then auto names it (based on the active windows title) and saves it in a folder I specify.

Thanks all if you can help, I've tried looking around a bit but haven't found one that does exactly what I need yet.

I like MWSnap (MWSnap Freeware download and reviews from SnapFiles). You can adjust the size and position of the screen shot, all the way up to full screen, or work with a fixed sized rectangle. It saves to a choice of seven formats.

Try SnapDraw. You can set a capture key for the active window. Print Screen Capture Software with Special Effects, Annotation Tools and support for Windows 7, Vista and XP Alpha Transparency (Translucency). and you can set it to save automatically.

This one gets pretty close to what you want, i does name and save automatically if you wish but it generates its own names in sequence, not naing by the title of the windows it captures. I doubt very much if that is possible. By the time it comes to saving the screenshot is an image so whether there is text or an icon in the title bar makes no difference:

You can try the free graphic viewer, Irfanview. This has various screen capture options and you can save the captured image with a custom auto file name in a folder of your choice and filetypes.

While Irfanview is open press C to start the Capture menu.

If all you want is a free screen capture program, then there has always been PAINT.

You can use the Windows Snipping Tool for another freebee.

You can use the windows Problem Step Recorder

My favorite screen capture program which is not free is SnagIt
