Windows 7: 64 bit vrs 32 bit

64 bit vrs 32 bit

i want to install a clean Windows 7 on my laptop. But i have some 64 and 32 bit applications. Can the 64 bit Windows 7 take both 32 and 64 bit applications.

If you want to have more than 4gb of ram you will need the 64-bit.

Well, it's quite a complicated issue, and you have to give kegobeer credit for keeping his post to a managable size.

On my mac I installed 7 64 bit because it already has 4 gb and has the possibility for expansion. On my older desktop I only have Vista 32-bit with 2 gb of ram. Since the capacity is only 4 gb I won't be switching.
