Desktop keeps showing a colored overlay

Hi All,

I have a problem that is driving me crazy. Every 10 - 15 mins my desktop changes color and then 10 - 15 mins later it changes back.

Im attaching an image to show what i mean as its hard to explain. One is my normal deskop the other shows the problem. The colour can also differ today its pink but in a few days ago it was bright blue!

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64Bit with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD5400 and connected to my Sony Bravia via hdmi

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Wurz

The only experience I have had with the problem you are experiencing was a failing monitor. Have you got another monitor you can use to perform a test?

Ok, i was looking in the wrong place for he answer as I didn't think for a second it would be the new and otherwise perfectly working TV. Thanks to Sir George my train of thought concentrated more on the TV than windows. Seems i am not the only one with this problem and it is an issue with the Bravia TV with no real fix!

Thanks Sir George at least i now know the problem.

Shortcut Icons on desktop all changed - have a different overlay
Not sure how or why this happens, but I put my computer to sleep last night (no pun intended) and this morning when turning it on all "shortcut" icons on my desktop were the same - and you can still see the regular icons behind it. Note: Only the "shortcut" icons were affected and no other ones. ...

Since a few days I am having this icon overlay problem withe several icons on my desktop. The original icon is still there but it is being covered by a sort of internet explorer like picture. This is also the case in several of my maps. It might (I am not sure) after having tried to remove the...

Removing the UAC Overlay from Desktop Icons
If, like me, you're the kind of person who can't pass a picture hanging wonkily without wanting to straighten it, you may find the Win7 icon overlays unappealing. I dealt with the ugly shortcut arrow easily with Option Two of Brink's typically expert tutorial at...

Desktop icons seem to have developed an unwelcome overlay
My desktop icons seem to have acquired and overlay that wasn't there yesterday. The attached picture shows an overlay that occurs on every shortcut but not on the folders listed on my desktop. I have recently deleted a fair amount of "uneeded" programs so I suspect this may be related. Any...
