    signature problem 07 noRootcause...boot!

    Hi everybody.
    I need your help.

I need to know (if exist) the proceeding to restore a windows 7 SO installed on a Hard disk, IN ANOTHER Hardware machine.
    Right?
    I explain again
Classic problem. on a desktop pc, with him HD (SO. Win7) breaks a motherboard.
Is needed to move an HD from this pc to another one that works corectly. but not only files, I mean the entire phisics hd. Obviously new hardware won't be able to boot correctly an old system...cause drivers conteined from other machine. So, windows7 permit to restore windows 7 with a proceeding from the bootable-cd of Win7.I'v done it but nothing restored and windows isn't able to load until the beginning of a flags logo of windows (after bios shown).
So I tryied to use a command line for restore. bootrec / fixboot fixmbr and RebuildBcd. Again my windows doesn't boot.
I'm trying to understand if exist a way to do this. seems to be so easy stuff to restore a system after an hardware crash, to other machine, WITHOUT format all system...
    thanks for help me..
    bye guys

    Hi,

It depends on what type of Windows installation you have - did Windows comes pre-installed on this computer?

    Hi,

In that case, if I understand you correctly, you cannot move the disk to another computer, since that pre-installed Windows is tied to the original motherboard.

    Hi,

Unless, I've misunderstood you, you have an OEM pre-installed Windows 7. With pre-installed OEM Windows installations, the installation is for the original PC only - you cannot move it to another PC.

Lets double-check this. Please follow the instructions here, and post the results for me to look at:
