    Windows 7 x64 Problems

Hi everybody, recently my hard drive was messed up and i decided to clone the drive to another one. but before i got the drive to clone i was still using my hard drive for a while, while it was messed up.

Right now my computer starts up to a boot screen having me choose which windows i want to start from even thought i only have one installation.

After it starts it used to make me a temp profiel now it have's me put my password in, but i changed the profile in the registry (removed the .bak from my original profile) (i also created a new profile) now it starts with a list of profiles to choose from if i chooses the new one it just says signing in and then the screen goes black and then back to the login in screen (this all happens fast)

even when i do get logged it by my regular profile it still creates a temp profile.

Another problem is that i cannot really do anything. Every time i click on some thing like control panel or msconfig it says explorer.exe {no such file interface supported}. the only reason i am able to do things is because i open 7-zip from cmd.

Aswell another problem that i have is that windows says that it is not genuine.

I used xxclone to clone my hdd to a perfectly formatted hdd

I also wanted to know if i should just use the virtual machine i have with a windows x64 instillation and copy the whole windows folder over my folder?

Does your computer have a COA sticker on it? If so, I would recommend this: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Just make sure all your data is backed up.

Where did you get Windows 7 from? It should come with a COA sticker or activation key, that's all you need.

    gerbil,
You are going to need your 25 character product key.
