.exe files opening as images, Can't open ANYTHING

hey everyone, I was on my pc and I really wanted to use the icon of a .exe file on an artwork, so I tried somethings but non of them worked so I just tried to open it with the windows image wiever, wich I dont remember the name. But I forgot to unmark that square saying "always open with this program" and so all the .exe files of my entire pc now open as images, I cant use "open with" or change anything in the properties, please, tell me how to open the exe files normaly, and also, i dont need any comments talking about how to get the icon, Ill leave that for later.
I dont have any pictures, since I cant use internet and so Im using another computer. please, please, please answer as soon as you ca, if you cant answer, a least le someone know I need help, ask anyone, because I dont have anyone in reach ( no internet, at all: skype, msn, games, all use .exe).
Please help me, I've been crying for hours, this is the last forum, please help.
