computer ai 201, please dont take me otherwise, I have dealt with such issues previously .... no known fixes worked there.

In such a situation, you can do only one thing, that is a Repair Install .

You need not to use start button at all to do it.

Hit the Windows Key on the keygoard (W-Flag) it should bring up the start selection.
    Another option.
SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot

    For some of you:
With Win 7, the key sequence to run task manager is:
    Hold down CTRL + SHIFT.
while holding them down tap ESC
    release all keys

I still don't know whether the Windows Flag Key works for the OP. If it does he can go anywhere from there. Ctrl/Tab/Esc also works.

Believe you meant to say Ctrl + SHIFT + Esc.

The OP should be able to hit the Windows key, type "cmd", and when the program is displayed in the menu, he should be able to right click on it and run as administrator.

    karlsnooks,

Why? I've got no need to run it.

Or was that for the OP? If so, Layback Bear has already linked to it, so I don't think there's a need to try and open a command prompt via Task Manager.
