Mouse pointer icon is divided and I cannot restore it

    Hello,

Something has recently happened to my mouse pointer icon. It is split in half by a gap of about a 1/16", there is a short vertical line attached to the tail as well, and it will disappear when you mouse over address/text box. This will also occur when the icon changes from the pointer to the loading circle. It is split in half as well.
I've tried changing the theme, color and the pointer icon and the issue persisted. When I changed the option to no theme only the right half of the pointer appeared. One other thing changed and I'm having trouble explaining this part; the position where the mouse "point" is has moved from the end of the arrow to right side end of what remains of the pointer.
The only success in restoring normal pointer function was to activate the tail option.
However this doesn't correct whatever is wrong here.
I should also note that I have only one monitor

It looks something like this but it is the standard size.

    Thanks
