Problem with deleting files

This is a very small problem, yet still slightly annoying.
When I try to delete any type file, on the "Are you sure you want to move this file to recycle bin box, there is a bad icon in the corner.

I circled it in these screenshots.

Not that big of a deal, but any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Ianaf,

Do you have an issue with the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop as well?

You might see if restoring the default icon of both the "Empty" and "Full" Recycle Bin icons using the tutorial below may be able to help. If not, try changing the icons to something else temporarily, then restoring the default icons.

Desktop Icons - Change or Restore Default Icon

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Just tried that, with no luck.
I don't even remember what is supposed to be there instead of the bad icon.

It suppose to be the image of the "Full" Recycle Bin icon.

Do you have an issue with the Recycle Bin icon at any other location? (ex: Desktop, navigation pane in Windows Explorer)

Double check the registry location below to see if it's the same for you.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\DefaultIcon

You might also run a SFC /SCANNOW command to see if a system file may be corrupted causing it.

The registries looked the same and SFC /scannow showed no errors. Weird.

I have the recycle bin turned off on my desktop. I just turned it on, it looked fine. Everywhere else it looks good too.

But when I go into the recycle bin, and I remove a item from the recycle bin, I get this icon. I don't know if this is normal.

Yep, that icon is normal since you are trying to "permanently" delete the file.

Has the other icon just started doing this recently, or has it always done it?

It started happening recently, I might've shrugged it off for a while because I didn't notice it.

Well, since it had started just recently, then you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before you believe it started may be able to restore the icon.
