How do I stop my laptop from stuttering?

I have a Toshiba that is less than a year old and whenever I listen to music, watch movies or watch videos, my laptop will create a loud buzzing noise and will stutter. This happens every few minutes and it has got worse the past few days. I've done quick scans on Norton and it hasn't found any viruses, so I don't know what is causing the stutter.

Hello Alex and welcome to Seven Forums.

Are you watching/listening to streaming content from the web or are you playing back from saved files on your hard drive? Or does the buzzing and stuttering happen in both cases?

    Hi, thank you.
It happens in both cases; whether I'm watching a video on youtube or listening to music saved on my iTunes.

The specific model of Toshiba may be helpful information.
Also look in windows update under optional and verify there aren't any new drivers available for your system.
Sounds like audio codec gone bad.
have you ever installed any codec packs?

    Model: Toshiba Satellite L750D.
I went to Windows update and installed all important updates and I can't recall ever installing any codec packs.
