    Is there a really good fast Search Utility for Windows 7?

    HI;

    I have nearly 5TB of data on my main computer and connected drives. The built in search indexing ties up my i/o and makes my computer drag every time I move any amount of files around or add any amount of files (for example, virtually every day I copy a GB or more of digital photos to the machine).

    Is there some other search utility I could use in Windows 7 or some way to make the search build the index at night?

    I've tried selectively indexing, but then it ends up not being very useful when I want to find something.

    I also recall I had a problem with the built in search database getting so large it got corrupt at one point and I had to delete it, I think it was 10GB.

    Thanks,

    Jamie

    You mean just the built in search? If so, yes, that is what I was talking about in the post that I have tried to use, but it ends up slowing my system way down because of all the i/o on the drives it does when it indexes changes while I am using the computer.

    Thanks

    Thank You.
    I loaded this one up as well and it looks like it lets me do some in file searches, which of course take lots longer, but are sometimes necessary.

    I'll keep both of these loaded, each serving their own purpose. If I know the file name, I can't beat the speed of the Search Everything, it is very fast even with over 4 million files.

    Thanks,
