Winows 7 & Windows XP!!!

Hello everyone!!!
I am running into an issue I just got this laptop and it came with Windows 7 on it I get the real version when it comes out for sale.
Here is my problem I have an embroidery machine that runs strictly off of the computer for it to run but it will run off of Windows XP how can or can I get a program to work for this PC?? I installed Virtual PC and still will not work right I am still new to Windows 7 is there some way or somehow a program in Windows 7 to run XP games and programs???

Hi Lisa, welcome to the forums.

Firstly if you have bought a laptop pre-installed with Windows 7 then you will/should not need to buy it in October.

Secondly you could try running the main install/setup EXE file in compatability mode for XP. Just right-click the main installer EXE and select 'Properties' then the 'Compatability' tab, next check the box for 'Run this program in compatability mode for...' then select XP (any SP) and then click OK.

Now the program will install as if it was installing within XP.

Some programs/games do not install under this environment but hopefully yours will
