    Hello flogit,

You might see if rebuilding the icon cache may help.

If not, then you may be able to use OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to change the icon back to the default icon with the path below.

    C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll,-36

    Drive Icon - Change

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks I did look into your tips, but failed.Tried the ''auto rebuild icon cache''.No luck. Then went on to the option one

Drive Icon - Change quite understand that it was a bit to techy for me,It asked to create new folder and name it autorun.inf got to that then is asked to copy the 'ico' of the drive required to change,Got lost there.
Thanks maybe you can make it a little easier for me.Looking a bit on the black side at the moment.
Would appreciate any further help if possible PLEASE.
    many thanks.

I wouldn't recommend using an autorun.inf file for you C: drive for now. Go ahead and delete it, and also do OPTION TWO along with OPTION THREE still set, then restart the computer to see if that may help. :)

No problem. You'll need to scroll down past the listed file extensions until the alphabetical order starts over before you will see the Classes key. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

As a test, download and merge the .reg file below, and restart the computer to see if it may help restore the default Windows drive icon for drive letter C.

You're most welcome. That's great news. I figured that a mistake may have just been made while doing the tutorial since the .reg file was just OPTION THREE done automatically for this for you. :)
