    RAR Files


    So my computer has turned every rar file into a strange icon, and when i click on it, my cpu goes to max. anyone else has this problem?

    What program have you got RAR file associated with as this is probably the icon of that program? What happens if you double click an AR file?

    I have .RAR files associated with winrar, when i double click the computer is spamming explorer.exe at me and i'm forced to restart.

    Open WinRAR settings and set the file associations to open all compressed files , see what will happen.

    Options -> settings -> Integration tab -> tick RAR -> OK

    un-install RAR - - - -- THEn install ......................
    IF that doesn't help kick out RAR use 7-ZIP
