    SONY battery issue Its showing 44% available(plugged in , charging)


    Hello friend .... Please i m very upset...........
    i had sony vaio E series with Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit.
    its just 1 year .........
    all was well last night.. when morning i press power button it was not on i put battery connection then it worked and i htought that battery discharge problem.
    But
    its almost 2 hours battery status still showing
    44% available(plugged in , charging)
    and not charging ........ i think as without battery laptop not working........
    Please help me with the solution..........
    its almost a year to buy laptop.
    Hope someone understand what i want to convey...........

    High chance your battery has gone bad. Contact Sony Support they should be able to help you.

    Hello rubel, Before blaming the hardware, let us check if everything is OK on the part of the software. The battery indication is just a system resource file, and it might be get a corruption.

    If it is this only, a SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker will fix the issue.

    But if not, it is some fault on the part of the hardware. Follow what logicearth suggested.

    Hello ARC.
    i try wat u say........
    its saying "you must be an adminsitartor running a console session in order to use the sfc utility"

    You are to open an Elevated Command Prompt to run SFC /SCANNOW Command :)

    Now, we may decide that it is the battery that is causing the problem.

    Can you manage another laptop , say some of your friends stuff ? If you can, swap the batteries as a test. If you see that the same situation is showing to the other one , You can get it confirmed that the battery is damaged, and replace it.

    As far as I know, A good 9 cell Dell battery costs more or less Rs 5000 INR . I have never used a Sony laptop.
