    System Unbootable, error: stop: c000021a

Well I had the brilliant idea to delete the manufacturer's recovery partition on my ASUS Win 7 64-bit laptop, and reclaim that space for my C drive, and now my system is unbootable. I get the error message "autochk program not found" then stop: c000021a Fatal System Error. I have run System Recovery several times to no avail. I tried to do a repair using the Win 7 DVD, but that didn't work either.

I am entertaining suggestions for a fix for this. Any ideas anyone?

    Hi,

The easiest thing at this point is probably to do a clean install. This is the definitive way to do it:

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

And if you want to recover data from the hard disk before you do anything, Lucid Puppy way to recover files from a non-bootable computer

This problem is easy to fix! what exactly did you do? You did delete the recovery partition... did you try to boot after that action and did it boot fine?

Did you add space to the left or right side of WIN7 partition?

    From Recovery environment->command prompt:
    dir c:\
    dir d:\
    dir e:\

Now you know the drive letter of win7. In this sample D
    Code:

dir d:\windows\system32\autochk.exe (is it still there)?
    chkdsk/f d:
post results (it takes hours to complete)

It says the drive letter of Windows 7 is D, when it should be C. I re-sized the C partition with the space I recovered from the recovery partition and moved everything over.

Was the recovery partition located in front of or located after win7 partition?
What do you mean by saying "and moved everything over"?

disconnect all external disks and usb sticks. Then in recovery environment->command prompt

    diskpart
list disk (I assume you only see disk 0?)
    sel disk 0
    list part
    exit

How many partitions? Please give the type and size

    diskpart
    list vol
    exit

What is volume C? and what is its size? What volume is system (under info)?
