Would I have to re-install Win7 on late October?

    Hey everyone.
I have to either install WinXP (again) on my PC or make a fresh install of the RC or RTM version of Win7... what would you suggest?
The thing is, that once the final version is out there... would I have re-install the whole thing over again?, or would there be like a purchased activation option from Microsoft?

    Any comments are appreciated!

Hi lando, welcome to the forums.

Unfortunately you will need to re-install Windows 7 as the RC will expire & can't be upgraded but, I would highly recommend a clean install anyway

You can never go rong with a fresh new install of a fresh new OS. If you have XP you can't upgrade so will need to clean install anyway.

If I were you I would install the RTM (which is an ultimate version) and when you purchase your legit copy of ultimate all you would have to do is to put in your key.

I guess you are right... It just bothers me to make a backup of all my files and go over the installation over again. I am gonna install the RTM and then make a fresh, new, clean install in a couple of months.
I guess it is something we cannot avoid doing...
