Hotkey temporary appearance in taskbar on initial booting?

When windows7 is initially booted, I get a "hotkey" icon appearing in my taskbar. It is there for a short time and then disappears.

I know you are stating the hotkey appears in the taskbar, but is it in the notification area or the left side by the "Start Orb", as a pinned object?

Appears for about 20-30 seconds as a pinned object.

I have a similar problem, but it is associated with the Notification icons. The only thing that comes to mind is a newly installed program; have you recently installed any new software?

About a month or two ago I did install a new printer with its software. However, I think that the hotkey issue has been going on for longer than that.

Any idea why this icon briefly appears? I guess I can live with it, if I must, but certainly would be happier if I could get rid of it as long as I am not confounding any related processes.
