Windows 7: pdf icons instead of an image of reduced page

Windows 7
pdf icons instead of an image of reduced page

I am running Windows 7 on two lap tops and my wife & my desk tops. My business requires me to open and reduce to the task bar several pdf docs to work on a file. With my laptops, when I hover over the icon, it shows what the doc is; however, with our desktops, when I hover over the icon on the task bar, it only shows an image of the pdf symbol-not the doc contents. Any ideas on how to get the desk tops to perform like our laptops in this area? Thanks.
